For best results, the cylinder bores should be honed to the correct finish (typically 45-60 degree crosshatch) and within the manufacturer’s wear limits. If the bores are excessively worn or out of round, we recommend re-sleeving or replacing the cylinder liners. Always follow the engine rebuild manual for specific tolerances.
After installation, run the engine at varying RPMs (1200-1800 RPM) for the first 20 minutes under light load. Avoid prolonged idling or full throttle operation during the first 50 hours. Use high-quality diesel engine oil meeting API CK-4 or ACEA E9 specifications. This ensures proper ring seating and maximizes service life.
